Your Privacy Matters
We built Marour to help you get around Himachal Pradesh — not to collect your data. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide our service:
• Account information — your name and email address when you register
• Device information — device model, OS version, and unique device identifiers for push notifications
• Usage data — routes and stations you view, searches you perform, and app interaction patterns (all anonymised)
• Crash reports — anonymous diagnostic data to help us fix bugs
We do not collect your Aadhaar, PAN, payment details, or any government-issued identity information.
How We Use It
Your data is used solely to:
• Provide real-time bus tracking and timetable information
• Send you arrival alerts and reminders you explicitly request
• Improve app reliability and fix crashes
• Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve features
We do not use your data for advertising profiling, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose unrelated to bus tracking.
Location Data
Marour requests location permission only when you use the "nearby stations" or "live map" features. Location data is:
• Used only on-device to show you nearby stops and buses — it is never uploaded to our servers
• Not stored persistently — it is used in real-time and discarded
• Never shared with any third party
• Controlled entirely by you via your device's app permissions — you can revoke access at any time in Settings
Third Parties
We use a small number of carefully chosen third-party services:
• Firebase (Google) — push notifications and crash analytics. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Firebase.
• Google Play Services — app delivery and update infrastructure
• HRTC / HP State Transport — public timetable data is sourced from government schedules
We do not embed advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that profile individual users.
Data Security
We take security seriously:
• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2+
• API responses containing sensitive data are AES-256-GCM encrypted
• We store only hashed passwords — we cannot read yours
• Access to production infrastructure is restricted to authorised personnel
• We conduct periodic security reviews
No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please contact us at security@hptechies.com and we will respond promptly.
Your Rights
Under applicable Indian data protection law and our own policy, you have the right to:
• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent — revoke location permission or notification permission at any time via device settings
